Boardwalk - Tokyo 6 (original collage)

£40.00

Description: Boardwalks is an ongoing body of abstract collage works constructed from upcycled coloured cardboard. Drawing inspiration from the incidental markings of pavements, near and far, those everyday surfaces shaped by time, weather, and countless footsteps. Each piece transforms discarded cardboard into bold, layered compositions that explore sustainability, renewal, and the rhythm of urban life.

Tenji blocks, also referred to as tactile paving, are raised yellow tiles commonly found on pavements in Japan. Designed in the 1960s by Seiichi Miyake, they assist visually impaired people in navigating safely and independently. The blocks use different patterns such as lines to indicate a safe path to follow and dots to indicate a stopping point, hazard or change in direction.

Pop-Up Frames made this cardboard frame from 100% FSC certified material sourced from responsibly managed forests in Europe.
